HERITAGE SCHOOL ORGANISES ‘FALL RETREAT'

Heritage School under the aegis of SPIC MACAY organised ‘Fall Retreat’ a musical bonanza, on 11th Oct. 2018. The programme featured the renowned Hindustani vocalist Vidushi Kalapini Komkali receipent of fellowship from Dept. of Culture, Govt. of India and Kumar Gandharva award by Pratisthan of Pune.
The programme commenced with the lighting of the ceremonial lamp followed by the welcome address. It has been a constant endeavour of SPIC MACAY, headed by Dr Sapna K Sangra, State chairperson and Dr. Seema Rohmetra, Coordinator, Jammu Chapter, to form a connect with the students by bringing them in close proximity to Indian art, culture and music. Jammu chapter aims to make students more aware about the Indian and world heritage. This initiative makes education more holistic and meaningful as it enables one to be in touch with one’s roots.
Ms. Komakali enthralled the audience with her mellifluous renditions. She was ably accompanied by Shri. Shambunath Bhattacharya on tabla and Sh. Chetan Nigam on harmonium who are virtuosos of their field.
The honoured guests transported the music connoisseurs to sublime world of heavenly renditions. The students thoroughly enjoyed the mesmerizing recitals. The programme came to a close with a formal vote of thanks. Mementoes were presented to the esteemed guests as a token of appreciation from the Heritage family.
